INXS

"Original Sin" is the twelfth and final studio album by the Australian rock band INXS, released on physical media on November 16, 2010, by Epic Records, Atco Records, and Polydor, after its digital release on October 28, 2010. The album features covers of earlier INXS songs, each featuring a guest singer. J.D. Fortune, the winner of the Rock Star: INXS competition and vocalist on the previous album Switch, performed lead vocals on the 1990 track "The Stairs," marking his last contribution to the band before his departure in 2011. The band members described the album as a tribute, with new recordings of their songs. Jon Farriss noted, "We've re-invented these songs. Some have been done by an orchestra, some are stripped down, and some tracks may take you a while to recognize what it is." A review in QRO Magazine rated the album 5 out of 10, and it charted at number 49 on the Australian Albums Chart. In 2011, the album was re-issued by Atco Records for the US market, featuring an alternative version of track four, "Never Tear Us Apart," where the French lyric and vocal duet between Ben Harper and Mylène Farmer was replaced with a solo vocal by Harper.
