"Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace" is a studio album by American rock band The Offspring. Released in June 2008, it marks the band's eighth studio album and the first not to be handled by their longtime producer Ron Welty, who left the band in 2003. The album took almost five years to produce, marking the longest gap between two Offspring albums to date. The album incorporates elements of punk rock and pop punk, a departure from their previous work.
Produced by Bob Rock, known for his work with Metallica, Motley Crue, and Bon Jovi, "Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace" represents a continuation and maturation of the band's punk sound, while also introducing more pop elements. The album has 12 tracks, including its lead single "Hammerhead" and follow-up singles "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid", "Kristy, Are You Doing Okay?" and "Half-Truism".
The album received generally positive reviews from critics who praised the band's ability to still deliver energetic punk rock anthems. It peaked at number 10 on the Billboard 200 and was certified Platinum in Canada. The song "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid" reached number two on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart, becoming one of the band's most successful singles. As of today, "Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace" remains an important part of The Offspring's discography.
