"Spiritchaser" is the seventh studio album by Dead Can Dance, released in 1996, and their last before reuniting fourteen years later for "Anastasis." The album continues the band's exploration of world music and was recorded at Brendan Perry's Quivvy Church studio in Ireland. Dedicated to Lisa Gerrard's deceased brother, Mark Gerrard, "Spiritchaser" features the track "Indus," which unintentionally mirrors the melody of The Beatles' "Within You Without You." Permission from George Harrison was granted to use the melody, resulting in him receiving partial songwriting credit. In 2020, Brazilian metal musician Max Cavalera named "Spiritchaser" his favorite non-metal album.
