Kula Shaker

Strangefolk is the fourth studio album by British psychedelic rock band Kula Shaker. The album was released in the United Kingdom on August 20, 2007, nearly ten years after the release of their debut, "K". Strangefolk was the band's first full-length album after its reformation in 2006; they had broken up in 1999. The album was very well received by fans and also achieved critical acclaim. It includes a mixture of psychedelic rock, Indian raga elements, and spiritual and mystic lyrics that became the signature of their sound. The album's individual tracklists feature a mix of varied tracks, including "Song of Love/Narayana", "Out on the Highway", and "Second Sight", which all manage to capture the essence of the band's unique sound. Strangefolk was recorded at State of the Ark studios and was mixed at The Premises Studios in London. The album was co-produced by the band's frontman Crispian Mills with Tchad Blake, a renowned music producer who has worked with musicians like Peter Gabriel and Pearl Jam. However, the commercial success of Strangefolk couldn’t match their debut album but still managed to hit the top 75 in the UK album charts and was top 10 in the Japanese international charts.
