Snoop Dogg

"Malice n Wonderland" is the tenth studio album by American rapper Snoop Dogg. It was released on December 8, 2009, by Doggystyle and Priority Records. Production for the album took place from January 2009 to September 2009 at several recording studios and the production was handled by Battlecat, The-Dream, Tricky Stewart, The Neptunes, Teddy Riley, Lil Jon and Terrace Martin. This album features guest appearances from R. Kelly, The-Dream, and Brandy (credited as her alter-ego "Bunny"), among others. The album debuted at number 23 on the US Billboard 200, selling 61,000 copies in its first week. The first single, "Gangsta Luv", featuring The-Dream, peaked at number 35 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album's theme is based on the dark and ominous life of Alice in Wonderland. Artistically, it takes a sharp detour from the profundity of his previous albums and focuses heavily on commercial and radio-friendly tracks. The lyrical content consisting mostly of auto-tuned choruses and simplistic rhymes, the album has a decidedly more pop-oriented and lighter tone than Snoop's previous work. It's a fusion of modern pop and classic hip-hop, where Snoop explores different styles instead of sticking strictly to his roots. Despite mixed reviews from music critics, it still remains a significant instalment in Snoop Dogg’s prolific career.
