"Guitar Songs" is the second extended play (EP) by American singer-songwriter Billie Eilish, released on July 21, 2022, through Darkroom and Interscope Records. This EP represents Eilish's first new music release since her second studio album, Happier Than Ever 2021. Its surprise release was motivated by Eilish's desire to share new material with her fans as soon as possible.
The EP features two tracks: TV and The 30th, both of which Eilish considered for her upcoming third album, Hit Me Hard and Soft 2024, but ultimately chose not to include due to the immediacy of the lyrics. Both songs are intimate, sentimental ballads that contrast with the fantastical themes of her debut album. The tracks are supported by simple acoustic guitar arrangements that highlight Eilish's soft vocal delivery.
TV was first performed during Eilish's Manchester concert as part of her 2022–2023 world tour supporting Happier Than Ever. The song references the overturning of Roe v. Wade in June 2022, which had a significant emotional impact on Eilish. The 30th, the other track, was inspired by a friend's near-fatal car crash that occurred on November 30, 2021.
Music critics praised Guitar Songs for its vocal performance and songwriting, noting that the EP showcased Eilish's lyrical talent and the production's ability to convey vulnerable emotions. The tracks achieved commercial success, charting on several national record charts worldwide, including the Billboard Hot 100 in the US. Both songs reached the top 50 of the Billboard Global 200 and the top 40 in four countries. During the tour's Asian leg, Eilish and her brother Finneas O'Connell performed both tracks, including a special performance in Singapore in partnership with the country's tourism board.
