Kasabian

"West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum" is the third studio album by British indie rock band Kasabian, released on 5 June 2009. It marked a significant shift for the band as it was their first album without lead guitarist and songwriter Christopher Karloff. Rhythm guitarist Sergio Pizzorno took over as the lead songwriter and co-producer. The album also featured contributions from Tim Carter, who later joined the band as a full member. The album debuted at number one in the UK, becoming Kasabian's second number-one album there. It produced four singles: "Fire," "Where Did All the Love Go?," "Underdog," and "Vlad the Impaler." The album also performed well internationally, charting in the top 40 in countries such as Australia, France, Ireland, and New Zealand. "West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum" was nominated for the 2009 Mercury Prize and was voted the best album of the year by Q Magazine in October 2009.
