Sleep Dirt is a studio album released by the accomplished American musician Frank Zappa. It came out in January 1979 and termed as the 25th official album by Zappa. The album initially contained only instrumentals but lyrics were added to the 1991 CD release for three of the tracks ("Flambay", "Spider of Destiny" and "Time is Money").
In terms of the background, the album was part of a larger project originally titled "Hunchentoot," a musical envisioned by Zappa.
