"This Is All Yours" is the second studio album by English indie rock band alt-J, released on September 22, 2014, via Infectious Music. The album was supported by four singles: "Hunger of the Pine," "Left Hand Free," "Every Other Freckle," and "Warm Foothills." It achieved significant commercial success, debuting at number one on the UK Albums Chart and ranking as a runner-up in Belgium, Australia, and Canada, while reaching number four in the United States.
Critically acclaimed, the album was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album, further solidifying alt-J's position in the indie music scene. Its unique sound combines elements of folk, rock, and electronic music, showcasing the band's distinct style and creativity.
On May 25, 2012, alt-J released their debut album, An Awesome Wave, which won the prestigious Mercury Prize that same year. The band received significant recognition, being nominated for three Brit Awards, including British Breakthrough Act, British Album of the Year, and British Group of the Year. In January 2014, bassist Gwil Sainsbury left the group, marking a significant change in their lineup.
The band began recording their sophomore album, This Is All Yours, in April 2014 at Iguana Studios, the same location where they recorded An Awesome Wave. Gus Unger-Hamilton described the studio as "a tiny little place, sort of behind a second-hand tyre shop," highlighting the band's preference for intimate and unconventional recording environments.
