"Lifeline" is an album by Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals, released on August 28, 2007. Recorded in Paris during the fall of 2006, the album came together after the band completed a lengthy European leg of the Both Sides of the Gun tour. Harper and the Innocent Criminals wrote and rehearsed the tracks while on tour, using sound checks to refine the songs. The recording process took just seven days and was done on analog.
Upon its release, Lifeline debuted at number 9 on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling approximately 41,000 copies in its first week. By November 2008, the album had sold 173,000 copies in the United States. This album marks Harper's eighth studio release.
