Jeff Beck

"Jeff" is the ninth studio album by British rock guitarist Jeff Beck, released in August 2003. Named after the artist himself, the album showcases Beck's seasoned guitar techniques infused with techno-style beats, offering a mix of rock, jazz fusion and electronica. The album boasts a diverse range of influences and came after a hiatus of seven years since his last original disc "Who Else!". Notable tracks from "Jeff" include "Plan B", "Seasons", "Trouble Man", and "Hip-Notica". Aiding Beck on the album were a host of prestige guest musicians such as Tony Hymas, Pino Palladino and Saffron from Republica, and the Prodigy's Liam Howlett. This only strengthened the already rich sound of the album. The album was also noted for its distinctive cover art, featuring a 1930s Styled Lincoln Zephyr V12 with Beck at the wheel. "Jeff" peaked at No. 92 on the Billboard 200 chart, a testament to Beck's reputable standing within the rock music scene. The album got a nomination for the 2004 Grammy award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance for the track ‘Plan B’. This goes to show that even after so many decades in the music industry, Beck's experimental spirit and his eternal knack for innovation and evolution never faded.
