"Rockit" is the nineteenth and final studio album by legendary American musician, songwriter, and pioneer of rock and roll, Chuck Berry. Released in 1979, the album was Berry's first studio album in four years and his final official studio album comprising entirely of new material. "Rockit" includes original and fresh material but demonstrates Berry's consistency in his devotion to his trademark rock and roll sound that he had established in the 1950s. This album spotlighted a mature, evolved Berry who had the ability to stick to his rock and roll roots while branching out into new territory. The album is composed of ten tracks including a selection of blues ("California", "Pass Away") and pop songs ("If I Were").
