Eminem

"Kamikaze" is the tenth studio album by American rapper Eminem, released on August 31, 2018, through Aftermath Entertainment, Shady Records, and Interscope Records. This album, executive produced by Eminem and Dr. Dre, arrived with no prior announcement, just eight months after Revival—a response to the backlash that Revival had received. The album features contributions from Joyner Lucas, Royce da 5'9", and Jessie Reyez. Besides Eminem, the production team includes Luis Resto, Boi-1da, Tay Keith, Ronny J, and Mike Will Made It, among others. Kamikaze serves as a reaction to criticism of Revival, with Eminem addressing critics and rivals through various tracks. The artwork of Kamikaze pays homage to the Beastie Boys' 1986 debut album, Licensed to Ill. The album was promoted with three singles—"Fall," "Venom" (from the film of the same name), and "Lucky You." A music video for "Good Guy" was also released. Kamikaze debuted at number one in 21 countries and became Eminem's ninth consecutive number-one album in the U.S. It was the best-selling hip-hop album of 2018 and later received platinum certification from the RIAA. The album received mixed reviews from critics. Some viewed it as an improvement over Revival, praising its return to Eminem's aggressive style, while others criticized its focus on the reception of Revival and its perceived lack of adaptation to contemporary hip-hop trends. The album also stirred controversy due to its diss tracks aimed at various artists.
