Elvis Presley

"On Stage" is a live album by American singer Elvis Presley, released on RCA Records LSP-4362 in June 1970. It is a recording of Presley's performances in February 1970 at the International Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The album marked Presley's return to live performances after a hiatus of nearly 8 years. Elvis performed in two concerts per day during this period, a dinner show, and a midnight show, both backed by an eight-piece band, eight backup singers, and a full orchestra. This album represents an era of regeneration for Presley, who started facing new waves in music. The album features powerful live renditions of various popular numbers and among them, his rendition of "The Wonder of You" charted at number 9 on the United States singles chart. An expanded version of the album was subsequently released containing performances from both February and August 1970. This album epitomizes Presley's energetic and emotional performances during his 'Vegas years', and despite criticisms for his choice of some pop-song material, the album is recognized as a high point in his career.
