The Monkees

"The Monkees Present" (full title "The Monkees Present Micky, David, Michael") is the eighth studio album by the American pop rock band the Monkees. It was released in 1969 by Colgems Records and marked a transitional period for the band, as it was their second album following the departure of Peter Tork. This album also became the last to feature Michael Nesmith until the 1996 album "Justus". With Nesmith's temporary departure, the album focused on the remaining members—Micky Dolenz and Davy Jones—hence the subtitle "Micky, David, Michael". "The Monkees Present" features a mix of musical styles, including pop rock, psychedelia, and country rock influences, reflecting the eclectic tastes of the remaining members. Despite the changes within the band, the album includes notable tracks such as "Listen to the Band" and "Good Clean Fun". Although it wasn't a commercial success on par with their earlier albums, "The Monkees Present" remains a significant entry in the band's discography, showcasing their versatility and enduring appeal during a period of transition.
