Suede

"Night Thoughts" is the seventh studio album by English alternative rock band Suede. Released on 22 January 2016 through Warner Music UK, it follows their 2013 album "Bloodsports" and offers a unique concept album aura, since the songs are crafted to align with a short film by the acclaimed photographer, Roger Sargent. The album covers diverse themes, from the angst and worry of fatherhood to mental health issues. As a refreshing turn, it sees Suede again exploring new avenues in conceptuality and presenting a continuous flowing piece of music rather than a collection of individual songs. Sonically, "Night Thoughts" is a grandiose affair. Merging layered strings with their classic gritty rock sound, the band managed to create something that's simultaneously fresh, exciting, and absolutely Suede. Some of the album's standout tracks include "Outsiders," "Like Kids," "Pale Snow," and "I Can't Give Her What She Wants." Critically, the album was well-received and lauded for its ambitious concept and mature, sophisticated sound. It performed well commercially too, reaching number 6 in the UK Albums Chart. Many fans and critics consider "Night Thoughts" to be among Suede's finest works, praising it for the depth and complexity that distinguish it from much of their other output.
