"Bloodsports" is the sixth studio album by the English alternative rock band, Suede, released globally on 18 March 2013. Coming more than a decade after Suede's previous studio album, "A New Morning" (2002), this album marks the band's return after their split in 2003 and subsequent reunion in 2010. "Bloodsports" was well-received by critics and peaked at No. 10 on the UK Albums Chart.
The album signifies a new start for the band, embracing their original romantic and cinematic essence, filled with dramatic gestures. It includes highlights like the sweeping, string-kissed "For the Strangers" and some of the band's most pop-oriented tunes, such as "Hit Me" and "It Starts and Ends with You". The band described it as a balanced mix of ambiguity, despair, and hope.
"Bloodsports" was preceded by the single "Barriers", which was made available as a digital download in January 2013. The official lead single "It Starts and Ends with You" was released in February 2013, and the album saw successful sales and concert tours throughout 2013 and 2014.
