"Singles" is a compilation album by English band New Order, released on October 3, 2005, by London Records. This two-disc collection features the band's singles from 1981 to 2005, focusing primarily on seven-inch versions rather than the 12-inch mixes emphasized in their earlier compilation, Substance (1987). Notably, this release does not include B-sides, making it distinct from its predecessor.
The compilation includes three early singles—Ceremony, Everything's Gone Green, and Temptation—which had not previously appeared on CD in their original form. An exclusive edit of the "Rough mix" of Confusion was created for this compilation, along with a new edited version of Turn, which was not originally released as a single. The album showcases different versions of songs, some of which are rare and differ from their album counterparts.
An updated edition of Singles was released on September 9, 2016. This reissue included I'll Stay with You from the 2013 album Lost Sirens and replaced several tracks with new versions, including 1963, Run 2, Bizarre Love Triangle, True Faith, Spooky, Confusion, and The Perfect Kiss. The 2016 version was remastered by Frank Arkwright, addressing compression issues present in the original 2005 release.
Singles serves as a comprehensive overview of New Order's influential career, highlighting their evolution and impact on the music landscape from the early '80s onward.
