"The Ultimate Collection" is a greatest hits album by Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music, released on 7 November 1988 by E'G Records. This compilation differs from the 1986 album Street Life, which was primarily made up of Roxy Music's material, as it focuses more on Bryan Ferry's solo career. The album includes several of his solo hits, as well as notable tracks from Roxy Music's catalog. One of the key features of The Ultimate Collection is the inclusion of the previously unreleased track "He'll Have to Go," which was recorded during the 1977 sessions for The Bride Stripped Bare. This track was also released as a single in 1989. Another notable addition to the compilation is the track "Help Me," which had been released as a single in the U.S. in 1986 but had not previously been available in the UK until this album. The Ultimate Collection proved to be successful commercially, peaking at number six on the UK Albums Chart. It was well-received and has been certified triple platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), reflecting its strong sales and popularity.
