The Breeders

"Fate to Fatal" is an EP by American alternative rock band The Breeders, which was released on April 21, 2009. The EP features four songs, with the title track "Fate to Fatal" recorded at The Fortress Studios in London. The EP also includes a cover of Bob Marley's "Chances Are". The Breeders, consisting of Deal sisters Kim and Kelley, Jose Medeles, and Mando Lopez, created a distinctive mix of rock, pop and folk in "Fate to Fatal". Interestingly, it also features a guest performance by Mark Lanegan on "The Last Time". The artwork for the EP was created by Chris Glass, a designer from Ohio. "Fate to Fatal" followed the 2008 studio album "Mountain Battles" and was self-released by the band. The decision to self-release was attributed to the shorter form of the record and the band’s desire for creative control. The EP was critically praised for the band’s mix of different music styles and their continued ability to experiment. It showcases The Breeders' knack for both raw rock and roll and masterful pop.
