"Passion" (re-released as "Passion: Music for The Last Temptation of Christ") is an album by English singer-songwriter Peter Gabriel, released in 1989. It was Gabriel's first album on Real World Records, his second soundtrack, and his eighth album overall. Originally composed as the soundtrack for Martin Scorsese's 1988 film "The Last Temptation of Christ," Gabriel spent additional months developing the music into a standalone album, which was released in June 1989.
The album is notable for its role in popularizing world music and won a Grammy Award for Best New Age Album in 1990. It was also remastered in 2002 along with most of Gabriel's catalogue. "Passion" was initially available as a double vinyl album and a single CD.
