"Peter Gabriel" is the second studio album by English singer-songwriter Peter Gabriel, released on June 2, 1978, by Charisma Records. The album was recorded starting in November 1977, shortly after Gabriel finished touring for his debut solo album. It was produced by Robert Fripp, former King Crimson guitarist, and features his distinctive Frippertronics effects on the track "Exposure," which he co-wrote.
In the US, the album was released as "Peter Gabriel II" and is also known informally as "Scratch," a name derived from its cover artwork by Hipgnosis. Some streaming services list it as "Peter Gabriel 2: Scratch." The album achieved commercial success, reaching No. 10 on the UK Albums Chart and No. 45 on the US Billboard Pop Albums chart.
