Tina Turner

"Simply the Best" is the first greatest hits compilation by Tina Turner, released on October 22, 1991, by Capitol Records. The album features Turner's most popular hits from her comeback in the early to mid-1980s, along with three new songs: "Love Thing," "I Want You Near Me," and "Way of the World." It also includes a re-recorded dance version of her classic "Nutbush City Limits," all of which were released as singles in 1991 and 1992. This compilation is Turner's biggest seller in the UK, with 2.1 million copies sold and an 8× platinum certification. It remained on the UK charts for over 140 weeks and sold over 7 million copies worldwide. The U.S. version of the album has a different track listing, replacing "Addicted to Love (Live)" and "Be Tender with Me Baby" with "What You Get Is What You See" and "Look Me in the Heart." In Australia, a limited edition included a five-track bonus disc featuring a duet version of "The Best" with Jimmy Barnes, retitled "(Simply) The Best," and a new song called "I'm a Lady."
