"Immortal" is a remix album of Michael Jackson's music, released on November 18, 2011, by Epic Records. It serves as both a soundtrack to the Cirque du Soleil show Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour and a collection of remixes and reimaginings of Jackson's iconic tracks. The album features over 40 of Jackson's original recordings, reworked by producer Kevin Antunes, who spent a year with the multi-track master recordings. The remixes include a mashup of Jackson's greatest hits like "Can You Feel It," "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough," "Billie Jean," and "Black or White," and a choir-assisted version of "They Don't Care About Us."
The album was promoted with the release of the "Immortal Megamix" and several tracks unveiled on platforms like AOL Music, iTunes, and SoundCloud. Immortal was the eighth posthumous release of Jackson's music since his death in 2009, and it followed previous remix projects, including The Stripped Mixes and The Remix Suite.
In terms of commercial performance, the album debuted at No. 24 on the Billboard 200 with 43,000 copies sold in its first week. It performed especially well in Japan, where it sold 150,000 copies in the first week. Immortal was ranked among the top-selling albums of 2012, reaching No. 174 on Billboard's year-end chart and No. 35 on the R&B albums chart. It is the second-highest-selling Cirque du Soleil album, after Love (2006), which featured remixes of Beatles songs.
