Michael Jackson

"Ben" is the second studio album by American singer Michael Jackson, released by Motown Records on August 4, 1972, while he was still a member of the Jackson 5. The album received mixed reviews from contemporary critics but was more successful on the music charts compared to Jackson's previous studio effort. It peaked within the top 10 on the Billboard 200 in the United States, though it was less successful internationally, reaching number 12 in Canada and charting in the top 200 in Australia and France. The album's standout single, "Ben," achieved commercial success, topping both the US Billboard Hot 100 and the Australian ARIA charts. This marked Jackson's first number-one single both domestically and internationally. "Ben" also performed well in other regions worldwide. Although "Everybody's Somebody's Fool" was planned as the second single from the album, its release was cancelled for unspecified reasons. In 2009, two tracks from Ben were featured on the three-disc compilation Hello World: The Motown Solo Collection.
