The Doobie Brothers

"Sibling Rivalry" is the twelfth studio album by the American rock band The Doobie Brothers, released on October 3, 2000, through Pyramid Records and Rhino Entertainment. This album marked the band's first studio effort since Brotherhood in 1991. Notably, Sibling Rivalry is the only Doobie Brothers album featuring lead vocals by multi-instrumentalist John McFee and full lead vocals by drummer Keith Knudsen, both of whom rejoined the band in 1993 after an eleven-year hiatus. The album showcases a mix of rock and pop influences, reflecting the band's classic sound while incorporating new elements. The inner booklet features a group photograph that includes touring members Guy Allison (keyboards, backing vocals), Marc Russo (saxophone), and Skylark (bass, backing vocals). Allison contributed to the songwriting on three tracks, and touring bassist John Cowan also played a role, contributing the song "Can't Stand to Lose," co-written with Poco's Rusty Young. Overall, Sibling Rivalry serves as a significant chapter in The Doobie Brothers' ongoing legacy, reuniting classic members and highlighting their enduring musical chemistry.
