Moby

"Moby" released on July 27, 1992, by Instinct Records, is the debut studio album by Moby, known in the UK as The Story So Far. The album received a mix of reviews, with an A− from Entertainment Weekly, an 8/10 from NME and Spin, and a 2-star Honorable Mention from Christgau's Consumer Guide. Moby expressed frustration with the album's release, stating that it consisted of older tracks and was more of a compilation than a true debut, reflecting a different phase of his musical journey. He felt that the album did not represent his artistic vision, especially as he aimed for a cohesive listening experience similar to the Prodigy's Experience. Initially upset by the album's release without his cooperation, Moby later softened his stance, appreciating the album as an "odd time capsule."
