Iggy Pop

"Post Pop Depression" is the seventeenth studio album by American rock singer Iggy Pop, released on March 18, 2016. The album was produced by Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age. The album was recorded in secrecy and features contributions from Queens of the Stone Age's Dean Fertita and Arctic Monkeys' drummer Matt Helders. Josh Homme has described the album as being "about what happens when your utility is at an end, and dealing with your legacy". The album was well-received by critics and debuted at number seventeen on the Billboard 200, making it Iggy Pop's highest charting album in the United States. It is often described as a reflective, introspective work, largely influenced by Iggy Pop's age and status in the rock world. It is seen as a continuation of the moody, thematic rock found on his iconic "Lust For Life" and "The Idiot" albums. A key element of the album is its lyrical content that addresses themes of mortality, legacy, and aging. The album spawned three singles: "Gardenia", "Break Into Your Heart", and "Sunday", all of which received positive reviews. The subsequent tour for the album was billed as one of Iggy Pop's last large-scale tours, adding another layer of significance to the album.
