"Mr. Wonderful" is the second studio album by Fleetwood Mac, released on August 23, 1968. This all-blues album is similar to their debut but includes changes in personnel and recording methods. It was recorded live in the studio with miked amplifiers and PA systems rather than directly plugged into the board. The album features a horn section and Christine Perfect (later McVie) on keyboards. It took four days to record.
The album was initially intended to be titled "A Good Length" with a provocative cover idea, but this was rejected. Another proposed title was "Udder Sucker," but the label also declined this. Instead, Fleetwood appeared naked on the cover. In the U.S., the album was released as "English Rose," with about half of the tracks included. An expanded version was later included in the box set "The Complete Blue Horizon Sessions." The track "Lazy Poker Blues" was covered by Status Quo on their 1970 album "Ma Kelly's Greasy Spoon."
