"Our Bright Future" is the eighth studio album by American singer-songwriter Tracy Chapman, released on November 11, 2008, via Elektra. The album was co-produced by Larry Klein, with the first single, "Sing For You," being released digitally on October 31, 2008. In support of the album, Chapman appeared on several radio stations across Europe, participating in interviews and live sessions. She also performed "Sing For You" on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. A European tour followed, running through November and December 2008. Although a U.S. tour was initially planned for January 2009, it was later postponed. Chapman returned to Europe for additional performances during the summer of 2009. Our Bright Future was certified Platinum in France for selling over 200,000 copies and Gold in Switzerland for sales exceeding 15,000. The album was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album. To date, Our Bright Future remains Chapman's latest album.
