Boney M.

"Nightflight to Venus" is the third studio album by the Euro-Caribbean group Boney M., released in July 1978. The album achieved major success across continental Europe, Scandinavia, and Canada, topping numerous album charts during the latter half of 1978, and becoming Boney M.'s first UK number one album. It also received a nomination for a 1980 Juno Award in Canada for 'International Album of the Year.' The album features the worldwide hits "Rivers of Babylon" and "Brown Girl in the Ring," a double A-sided single that topped the UK singles chart and sold over 2 million copies in the UK. The follow-up single, "Rasputin," was another hit, often paired as a double A-side with "Painter Man," a cover of a 1966 hit by the Creation. In the UK, both "Rasputin" and "Painter Man" were released separately as A-sides and reached the Top 10. "Rivers of Babylon" also became their biggest US hit, peaking at No. 30 on the Billboard Hot 100.
