"Celebration" is the third greatest hits album by American singer-songwriter Madonna, released on September 18, 2009, by Warner Bros. Records. This compilation features 34 tracks from Madonna's career, starting from her signing with the label in 1982. The album includes three new songs: "Celebration" (which is featured on all versions), "Revolver" (included on the two-disc editions), and "It's So Cool" (a bonus track on select digital two-disc editions). A fourth track, "Broken," was recorded but not included on the album; it was later released in 2012 as a limited edition promotional vinyl single for fanclub members. The music video compilation Celebration: The Video Collection was released simultaneously on DVD.
Celebration was well-received by critics, who praised the breadth of Madonna's back-catalogue. The album debuted at number one in Belgium, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, and the United Kingdom, where Madonna tied with Elvis Presley for the most number-one albums by a solo artist. In the United States, it debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200, and it also entered the top ten in other countries, peaking within the top three in many. The title track, "Celebration," was released as the album's first single and became Madonna's 40th number-one song on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Songs chart. "Revolver" was the second single released in some regions but did not achieve significant commercial success.
