Neil Young and Crazy Horse

"Barn" is a studio album by the renowned Canadian-American singer-songwriter Neil Young, released on December 10, 2021. Produced by Neil Young and Niko Bolas, the album features ten new songs that Young recorded with Crazy Horse at his Rocky Mountain studio in Telluride, Colorado. This album marks the latest contribution to the fruitful collaboration between Young and Crazy Horse that spans over five decades, with their first collaboration dating back to 1969. The album incorporates diverse themes that range from environmental and social issues to personal introspection and affirmation of life. Like many of Young's works, "Barn" reflects his signature fusion of rock and folk elements, maintaining his characteristic style of heartfelt lyrics and raw, guitar-driven melodies. The majority of "Barn" was recorded live, in keeping with Young's longtime preference for capturing the spontaneous energy of live performances. The tracks encapsulate an array of moods and narratives, starting off with the spirited opener "Song of the Seasons," and closing with the melancholic yet hopeful "Change Ain't Never Gonna," thus offering an emotionally rich and resonant listening experience.
