The Clash

"The Singles" is a compilation album by the English punk rock band The Clash, released to gather all of the band's singles in their original single versions. However, it excludes a few notable tracks: 1977's "Capital Radio," which was a free EP and not eligible for chart entry despite being considered a single, and 1985's "This Is England," due to the band's disowning of its parent album Cut the Crap. The compilation includes the A-side version of the "This Is Radio Clash" single, which is often confused with its B-side "Radio Clash" in other compilations like Super Black Market Clash (1993) and The Essential Clash (2003), where the B-side is listed under the title "This Is Radio Clash." In 1999, the album was remastered and re-released with slightly altered artwork as part of Sony's Clash reissue campaign, providing a refreshed version of this essential collection of the band's singles.
