"Flowers" is the second compilation album by the Rolling Stones, released in June 1967. The album features a collection of songs recorded by the band at various studios dating back to 1965. It includes three previously unreleased tracks: "My Girl," "Ride On, Baby," and "Sittin' on a Fence." "My Girl" was recorded during the sessions for "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" in May 1965, while the other two were recorded in December 1965 during the initial Aftermath sessions.
The remaining tracks on the album either appeared as singles or were omitted from the American versions of the albums "Aftermath" and "Between the Buttons." The title "Flowers" is derived from the cover art, which features flower stems beneath portraits of each band member. According to bassist Bill Wyman, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards arranged Brian Jones's flower stem without leaves as a prank, though this claim lacks citation.
"Flowers" achieved commercial success, reaching number three on the US charts during the late summer of 1967 and earning a gold certification. In August 2002, the album was remastered and reissued on CD and SACD digipak by ABKCO Records, helping to preserve its legacy and make it accessible to new generations of listeners.
