"Live at the Fillmore 1997" is a 2022 live album compiling Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' 20-concert residency at The Fillmore in San Francisco during January and February 1997. The full deluxe version of the album includes 72 tracks, primarily drawn from the last six concerts of the residency. These tracks feature 58 songs and 14 spoken word interludes. The six shows were professionally recorded, with songs from these performances having been previously released on The Live Anthology and the 2020 expanded reissue of Petty's 1994 album Wildflowers.
Tom Petty described the Fillmore residency as a career highlight, with guitarist Mike Campbell calling the concerts "some of my favorite gigs ever." During the final performance, Petty told the audience, "We all feel this might be the highpoint of our time together as a group… It’s going to be hard to get us off this stage tonight."
The album features not only Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' original songs but also a selection of covers, representing the band's musical influences. Notable guest performances include Roger McGuinn and John Lee Hooker. Of the 58 songs in the collection, 35 are covers, paying homage to artists who influenced or collaborated with Petty and the Heartbreakers. The first two singles from the set, released in September and October 2022, featured live versions of "Listen to Her Heart" and "I Won't Back Down." The third single, released in early November 2022, was a performance of "Call Me the Breeze," one of three J. J. Cale songs the band covered during the Fillmore residency.
