U2

"The Complete U2" is a digital box set by the Irish rock band U2, released on November 23, 2004, by Apple Inc. through the iTunes Store. It holds the distinction of being the first major release of a purely digital online box set by any recording artist. This collection includes the full catalog of U2 albums, along with singles, live recordings, rare tracks, and previously unreleased material spanning from 1978 to 2004. The set features a total of 446 songs, offering a comprehensive overview of the band's career up to that point. Accompanying the music, the box set also included a PDF with album artwork, track listings, and commentary from the band. Initially, The Complete U2 was priced at $149.99 in the US, though those who purchased the U2 Special Edition iPods (specifically the fourth-generation iPod models) received a $50 coupon for the set. The U2 Special Edition iPods also came with a code for a 33-minute video featuring live performances and interviews with the band. However, as of December 20, 2007, the box set was no longer available for purchase. It remains a notable example of the digital music era, marking a significant milestone in how music was distributed and consumed in the early 2000s.
