Jimi Hendrix

"Experience" is a live album by Jimi Hendrix, released in August 1971 in the United Kingdom by Ember Records. The album serves as an incomplete soundtrack to the unreleased film "Experience," which documents the Jimi Hendrix Experience's performance at the Royal Albert Hall on February 24, 1969. Despite the album liner notes erroneously stating recordings from February 18, all tracks are from the February 24 concert. The album reached number nine on the UK album charts in September 1971. The liner notes notably claim these recordings are likely the last captured sounds of Jimi Hendrix, although subsequent live recordings from events like Woodstock and performances with the Band of Gypsys were released during his lifetime. Posthumously, several live albums and films documenting his 1970 Cry of Love Tour have also been released. Ember Records followed up with "More Experience," which featured edited versions of two tracks from "Experience," along with two previously released songs and three additional recordings from the February 24 concert.
