The Cure

"4:13 Dream" is the thirteenth studio album by the English rock band The Cure, released on October 27, 2008. Initially envisioned as a double album, the project was condensed to a single disc, resulting in a collection that includes four singles: "The Only One," "Freakshow," "Sleep When I'm Dead," and "The Perfect Boy." Robert Smith, the band's frontman, co-produced the album and emphasized a more focused approach during recording, limiting outside distractions to enhance creativity. The album features a mix of upbeat songs, with some demos dating back to previous decades being reworked. Notably, songs like "Sleep When I'm Dead" were originally intended for earlier albums. Promotion for 4:13 Dream included live performances of new material during tours, and the release of singles leading up to the album's debut. Despite delays, the album was well-received, debuting at No. 16 on the Billboard 200 and selling approximately 24,000 copies in its first week. Smith hinted at the possibility of a darker companion album in the future.
