House Of Pain

"Same as It Ever Was" is the second album by House of Pain, the American hip hop group known for their hit single "Jump Around." Released in 1994, the album reached number 12 on both the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and the Billboard 200 charts. During the recording of the album, the group faced the challenge of working around Everlast's house arrest due to a gun charge, adding a unique context to its production. Despite these hurdles, the album continued to build on House of Pain's reputation for energetic, brash hip hop with a distinct East Coast flavor. One notable track from the album, "I'm a Swing It," gained further exposure when its clean version was featured in the popular skateboarding video game "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3" in 2001. This inclusion helped introduce House of Pain's music to a new generation of listeners and cemented their place in the cultural landscape of both hip hop and gaming communities.
