All Saints

"Red Flag" is the fourth studio album by the British-Canadian girl group All Saints. Released on April 8, 2016, it marked the band's return to the music scene after nearly a decade, following their 2006 album "Studio 1". The album came to fruition after All Saints members Melanie Blatt, Shaznay Lewis, Natalie Appleton, and Nicole Appleton decided to reunite partially due to a renewed interest in their music and a desire to create new material together. The group described "Red Flag" as a project born from their original passion for music, unhampered by external pressures or expectations, which they felt typified their earlier work. The sound of the album stays true to their pop and R&B roots while incorporating contemporary influences and lyrical content reflective of their personal growth over the years. The album was introduced by the lead single "One Strike," a song inspired by a personal event experienced by Nicole Appleton, and it discusses themes of heartache and resilience. "Red Flag" received favorable reviews for its mature sound and cohesive production, which resonated with both long-time fans and new listeners. The album successfully brought All Saints back into the spotlight, leading to subsequent tours and performances.
