The Shadows

"Rockin' with Curly Leads" is the ninth rock album by The Shadows, released in 1973. Despite being a renowned British instrumental group, this album has a more experimental touch with a mix of rock and roll and pop rock. The group's lineup during the recording included Hank Marvin, Bruce Welch, John Rostill, and Brian Bennett. Produced by Norrie Paramor, it was recorded at EMI Studios in London. The title of the album is inspired by the type of guitar cables - 'curly leads', which were used by the band at that time. It's not regarded as one of their most successful albums, as it didn't make the charts when it was released. Even though it didn't receive commercial success on a larger scale, the album still reflects the band's musical proficiency and innovation. The 12-track album includes a mix of original compositions and covers, each showcasing the band's signature instrumental sound. Few of the standout songs are "Guitar Tango", "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue", and "Midnight". A re-released version came out in 2005 featuring bonus tracks.
