Toto

"Fahrenheit" is the sixth studio album by the American rock band Toto, released in 1986. This marked the band's first studio release to feature Joseph Williams on lead vocals. Famed jazz musician Miles Davis also contributed to the record, playing a solo for the track "Don't Stop Me Now". It was also during the production of this album that Steve Porcaro wrote Human Nature. Unlike the band's previous records, "Fahrenheit" brought on a smoother sounding direction such as smooth jazz and R&B, which was heavily influenced by session musicians the band members had been working with at the time. It continues the theme of hard hitting rock combined with melodic ballads that was standard for Toto's music. Upon release, the album reached a moderate chart position and its lead single, "I'll Be Over You," helped the album to achieve Gold certification. All in all, "Fahrenheit" marks a pivotal and transitional period in Toto's musical journey.
