The Groundhogs

"Hogwash" is the seventh album by the British blues rock band, The Groundhogs. This album was released on the 25th May 1972 by United Artists. Characteristic for its diverse music style, it distinctively showcases elements of progressive rock and psychedelic influences, marking a shift from the band's earlier blues-oriented albums. The album was produced by the Groundhogs' frontman Tony McPhee and it displays his forward-thinking approach. Tracks from the album include "I Love Miss Ogyny," "You Had a Lesson" and "Earth is Not Room Enough," proving 70's rock edge. While not as successful as their preceding album 'Split', 'Hogwash' remains a great representation of the band's unique style and experimental approach. Driven by Tony McPhee’s guitar playing skills, and backed by Pete Cruikshank on bass and Clive Brooks on drums, The Groundhogs managed to create a distinct experience with "Hogwash", blending together hard rock, blues, and progressive tendencies. The album remains a key body of work in their discography and continues to be influential within the music landscape.
