"Sea of Cowards" is the sophomore album from supergroup The Dead Weather, released in 2010. The band includes notable members like Jack White (of The White Stripes) on drums and vocals, Alison Mosshart (of The Kills) on vocals, Dean Fertita (of Queens of the Stone Age) on guitar and keyboards, and Jack Lawrence (of The Raconteurs) on bass.
Following the success of their debut album, the quartet quickly returned to the studio to record "Sea of Cowards", capitalizing on their distinctive blend of blues, garage rock, and punk. Recorded at Third Man Studios in Nashville, Tennessee, the album is known for its darker, heavier, and more aggressive sound compared to its predecessor.
"Sea of Cowards" features standout tracks like "Blue Blood Blues", "Die by the Drop", and "I Can't Hear You". The band strived to create an album that worked as an entire piece, rather than just a collection of songs. The album has been well received by critics, applauding its raw energy and inventive sound. Upon its release, it quickly ascended the charts and further solidified The Dead Weather's reputation as a unique force in the modern rock scene.
