The Lemon Twigs

"Do Hollywood" is the debut studio album by American rock band The Lemon Twigs. It was released on October 14, 2016, under 4AD label. The Lemon Twigs, a duo consisting of brothers Brian and Michael D'Addario, hail from Long Island, New York. They are recognized for their harmonic pop melodies, flamboyant theatricality, and detailed compositions, reminiscent of 70s baroque pop and soft rock. In the creation of "Do Hollywood", the D'Addario brothers composed and played nearly every note of the record themselves with minimal help. The album was produced by Foxygen's Jonathan Rado, who met the brothers after they had been fans of his band Foxygen for years. For a debut album, it made a strong impact and was met with generally positive reviews. "Do Hollywood" features intricate melodies and varied styles, jumping from pop to Broadway showtunes to psych-tinged rock. Standout tracks include 'These Words', 'As Long As We're Together', and 'I Wanna Prove to You'. The D'Addario brothers' veteran-like approach to music-making evokes the sounds of the 60s and 70s, and yet, their experimental edge makes it all sound fresh. This combined with their on-stage charisma adds to their appeal and has won them fans around the globe.
