Molly Hatchet

"Silent Reign of Heroes" is a studio album by American southern rock band Molly Hatchet. It was released on June 15, 1998, and signifies the band's ninth album apart from their live recordings. John Galvin and Bobby Ingram produced the album. This album continues their signature southern rock/heavy metal style that the band has been known for since their formation in 1971. Following the tradition of Molly Hatchet albums, the cover art of "Silent Reign of Heroes" includes dramatic fantasy-inspired imagery, depicting a war scene. This album includes hits like "Mississippi Moon Dog," "World of Trouble," and "The Journey." The lineup for this album consisted of Bobby Ingram on guitar, Phil McCormack on vocals, John Galvin on keyboards, Andy McKinney on bass, Russ Maxwell on guitar, and Mac Crawford on drums. A remastered edition of "Silent Reign of Heroes" was later released, containing two live bonus tracks: "Fall of the Peacemakers" and "Saddle Tramp." Incorporating both heavy metal elements and the introspective reflection of southern rock, this album is representative of Molly Hatchet's later work and critical reception was generally positive.
