"The Deed Is Done" is the sixth studio album by American rock band Molly Hatchet, released in 1984. It was a departure from their usual Southern rock style, as the band attempted to incorporate a more straight-ahead rock sound. It is the only Molly Hatchet album not to feature an epic, fantasy-themed cover. Instead, it had a much simpler design, reflecting the change in their musical direction.
The album features the single "Satisfied Man" which became one of Hatchet's few songs to gain considerable radio airplay. Other tracks off the record included "Backstabber" and "She Does She Does". The record's lineup comprised singer Danny Joe Brown, guitarists Dave Hlubek and Duane Roland, along with keyboardist John Galvin, bassist Riff West, and drummer Bruce Crump.
While it showed the band going in a new direction, it received mixed reviews from fans and critics, primarily due to the band's deviation from their signature Southern rock sound. Despite this, the album was still commercially successful, reaching number 60 on the Billboard 200 album charts.
