"Armed and Dangerous" is the first EP by American heavy metal band Anthrax, released in February 1985 through Megaforce Records. The band produced the EP with Carl Canedy, Jon Zazula serving as the executive producer. This EP represents a significant phase for the band since it marked the debut of Joey Belladonna as the lead vocalist, replacing their first vocalist, Neil Turbin.
Consisting of eight songs in total, "Armed and Dangerous" was a mix of both new music and re-recorded tracks. The EP includes two tracks from the band's debut album, "Fistful of Metal," which had been re-recorded with Belladonna on vocals. The EP is also famous for featuring a cover of the Sex Pistols' song, "God Save the Queen."
"Armed and Dangerous," with its dynamic blend of thrash metal and gritty rock elements, showcased the band's progression and solidified Anthrax's place in the new wave of American heavy metal. Despite its shorter duration as compared to full-fledged albums, the EP has had a significant impact on the band's musical journey and is seen as a crucial stepping stone in Anthrax's successful career.
