"Different Stages" is a 1998 live album by the Canadian rock band Rush, compiled by lead singer and bassist Geddy Lee, along with producer Paul Northfield. The album features performances from three different stages in the band's career: the first and second discs include tracks from their 1997 Test for Echo tour, recorded at the World Music Theatre in Illinois, with additional songs from other tour stops and the 1994 Counterparts tour. The third disc showcases a 1978 performance at the Hammersmith Odeon in London during the A Farewell to Kings tour.
The album was released in the aftermath of personal tragedies for drummer Neil Peart, whose daughter Selena died in a car accident in 1997, followed by the death of his wife Jacqueline from cancer in 1998. As Peart was recovering from his losses and had expressed a desire to retire, the album was produced without his direct involvement, and it was uncertain whether Rush would continue as a band. The album is dedicated to the memory of Peart’s daughter and wife, with a heartfelt tribute included in the packaging. The lyrics of Afterimage from Grace Under Pressure are featured, reflecting the themes of loss and remembrance.
A Japanese version of the album includes the bonus track "Force Ten" and features lyrics for all the songs. The A Farewell to Kings concert featured on the third disc was later released in full as part of the 40th anniversary edition of the album in 2017.
